White Rose Park

Short Street, Petrolia, ON, Canada

This park, located at the end of Short Street in the southwest section of town, is an open space, playground style park the town owns. White Rose Park includes a three-set teeter-totter, swing set and small climber, all of which are older-style metal piping materials. The lay of the land is uneven and tree growth is mostly provided around the south fence line. There is only one entrance into the park at the end of Short Street and parking is limited. This park saw a decline in usage when in 2003 the Lions Park Project became the new park to take young children to. Believing green space is important and recreation vital, this park creates an issue for the future with the decline in use and will require funds to be set aside for the purchase of new equipment or proposing options for future use.
